Obverse description The obverse presents an intricate geometric and floral arabesque framework in multicolour intaglio, centred on a large arched vignette with an ornate Moorish-style border in shades of orange, green, and pink. The serial number and prefix letters appear at the upper left and lower corners, with the Arabic date inscription and two manuscript signatures placed within the arch. The Arabic legend at the bottom reads 'Five Syrian Pounds', while the French title 'CINQ LIVRES SYRIENNES' is printed in bold letterpress at the top.

Reverse description The reverse carries a central colour vignette of the Azam Palace courtyard in Damascus, its arched arcade and minaret rendered in fine intaglio detail against a clear sky. Surrounding the central scene is a richly patterned arabesque border composed of repeating geometric and floral motifs in orange, teal, and pink tones. The Arabic inscription 'خمس ليرات سورية' runs along the top, with 'بنك سوريا ولبنان' in Arabic at the foot of the note, and '5 LIVRES' numerals flanking the central vignette.
