| Additional information |
The 1925 5 Lire prova was produced as Mussolini's government was consolidating its hold on the Italian monetary system — the Fascist regime had been in power since 1922 and was actively reshaping state institutions, including the mint. Prove of this period were struck in extremely limited numbers as internal test pieces, never released for circulation, and most were either destroyed or retained in official collections.
KM#Pr11 is among the more elusive Italian silver provas of the interwar run. Survivors outside institutional holdings are genuinely rare.
