Obverse description Left-facing helmeted bust of King Victor Emmanuel III wearing a military steel helmet and uniform, rendered in high relief with bold sculptural modelling. The legend VITT·EM·III· arcs along the upper left rim and RE·E·IMP· along the upper right, abbreviating his titles as King and Emperor. The engraver's signature G. ROMAGNOLI appears in small capitals along the lower field beneath the truncation. The portrait is executed in a vigorous, naturalistic style characteristic of Italian Fascist-era medallic art. The flat, unadorned field enhances the imposing quality of the effigy.
