| Obverse description | Bare-headed, uniformed bust of King Victor Emmanuel III facing right, depicted in military dress with elaborate epaulettes and decorative collar, rendered in high relief in the refined medallic style of Davide Calandra. The portrait is set within a raised inner border of twisted rope design, itself enclosed by a wreath border of laurel leaves running along the coin's periphery. The circumferential legend reads VITTORIO EMANVELE III RE D'ITALIA in incuse Roman capitals, and the engraver's signature D. CALANDRA appears in the field. |
