| Reverse description | The reverse is dominated by an elaborate multicolour guilloche underprint in olive-green, mauve, and gold tones, with intricate lathe-work rosettes at each corner. At centre, a large oval cartouche encloses a bold intaglio numeral "5" rendered in a scrolled serif style, with the inscription "CINCO LIBRAS ESTERLINAS" arching above and below within the cartouche border. Flanking the central oval are decorative tasselled vignettes, with the denomination numeral "5" repeated in guilloche medallions at the upper left and upper right. |
