Part of the Bulgarian National Bank's long-running "Bulgarian Crafts" commemorative series, this issue documents traditional carpet weaving at a moment when Bulgaria's handmade textile industry had already contracted sharply following the collapse of state-sponsored craft cooperatives after 1989.
