| Descrizione del dritto | Bare-headed effigy of King George I facing left, rendered in the mature second portrait style engraved by Jean-Auguste Barre. The king's hair is naturalistically styled with fine striated detail, and the truncation of the neck is cleanly cut. The engraver's signature BARRE appears on the truncation, with the date 1882 inscribed in the exergue below. A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy, set within a beaded border. |
