Beschrijving voorzijde	Intaglio portrait of Francisco Morazán in right profile occupies the right portion of the note, identified by his name below. To the left, the national coat of arms of Honduras is rendered within an oval vignette surrounded by the national motto and independence date, set against a multicolour rainbow guilloche underprint. Three facsimile signatures with printed titles appear along the lower centre.

Beschrijving keerzijde	A large intaglio vignette of the Battle of Trinidad (November 11, 1827) spans the full width of the note, rendered in fine engraved line work with colour lithographic highlights, showing two opposing groups of soldiers in close combat. The scene is framed by guilloche border elements at left and right, with denomination numeral "5" in intaglio at upper right. A rectangular cartouche at the lower centre carries the battle title and date.
