| Opmerkingen |
The American Bank Note Company held a near-monopoly on Central American currency printing through much of the mid-twentieth century, and Honduras was a reliable client for decades. This particular series ran for six years across multiple date varieties, with the ABNC imprint a consistent presence throughout — their New York intaglio work during this period was technically accomplished, if increasingly formulaic by the late 1960s.
Pick 56 was eventually superseded as Honduras modernized its note designs in the mid-1970s, a shift that also moved production away from ABNC toward other contractors.
