正面描述 Within a recessed circular field, a kneeling female figure is depicted in profile facing right, her body nude from the waist up, bending forward in a posture of labor or devotion and holding a small vessel or lamp in her outstretched hands. A floral ornament adorns her hair. The legend ROMANIA appears along the lower rim in raised Latin characters, with the date 1922 directly below, separated by a line from the figure above.

附加信息

Romania's postwar monetary reorganization produced a wave of pattern coinage in the early 1920s as the government evaluated new denominations and compositions for a unified currency — the country had nearly doubled in size after 1918, absorbing Transylvania, Bessarabia, and Bukovina, each with its own circulating coinage. The bronze 5 Lei pattern of 1922 was never adopted for circulation; the denomination eventually appeared in aluminum-bronze rather than bronze proper.

Stamb#116-1.1 places this among the earliest documented die trials for the type.
