Reverse description The full Latvian state coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield displaying a rising sun, a lion rampant, and a griffin, supported by a lion rampant to the left and a griffin to the right, both rearing. Three five-pointed stars arc above the shield, representing the three historical regions of Latvia. A decorative ribbon banner below the supporters carries the date flanking the large numeral 5 in the lower field. The Latvian word PIECI (five) and denomination LATI appear in bold lettering along the lower arc, with the year divided to either side of the central device.
