| Additional information |
Issued to mark the 50th wedding anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip in 1997, this coin is one of dozens of near-identical commemoratives produced across Commonwealth and former Commonwealth nations that year — Malawi among them — most struck by the Pobjoy Mint or the Royal Mint on contract. The market was thoroughly saturated at issue, and secondary values have reflected that ever since.
