Obverse description The national coat of arms of Zambia occupies the central field, depicting a shield charged with a wavy pattern representing the Victoria Falls, supported by a man in traditional dress to the left and a woman in traditional dress to the right. An African fish eagle with outstretched wings perches atop the shield, flanked by crossed pickaxe and hoe. A scroll beneath the supporters bears the national motto ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION. The country name ZAMBIA arcs along the upper legend in large letters, while the date 1992 appears in the lower field below the coat of arms.
