Harrison and Sons printed the bulk of the Bank of Zambia's early series notes, and this 1989 issue follows that long-running relationship. The watermark is the sole security feature — modest even by the standards of the period, when many African central banks were pressing printers for more sophisticated protection.
The "Printed: 30.04.1945" field in this catalog record is almost certainly a data entry error; Harrison and Sons did not print Zambian currency before Zambia's independence in 1964.
