| Obverse description | The elaborate calligraphic tughra of Sultan Mahmud II occupies the central field, enclosed within a three-quarter chain wreath of interlocking links. The epithet 'Adil' (The Just) appears in Arabic script within the tughra composition. The outer border of the coin is adorned with a decorative wreath of stylized floral motifs and foliage, lending the design an ornate, courtly character typical of Ottoman billon coinage of this period. |
