| Obverse description | The elaborate calligraphic tughra of Sultan Abdülaziz occupies the central field, rendered in fine relief with characteristic vertical shafts, looping bow, and extended horizontal arm. The tughra is set within a decorative inner border composed of alternating crescents and six-pointed stars, arranged in a scalloped or cloud-band pattern. The outer rim is defined by a plain milled border. The overall design is characteristic of mid-nineteenth-century Ottoman coinage, emphasizing the imperial monogram as the sole device on this face. |
