附加信息

Turkey's earliest Republican coinage was struck under a government still consolidating power after the War of Independence, with the 1924–1925 issues representing the first standardized decimal coinage of the new state. The Paris Mint produced these pieces, as Turkish minting infrastructure had been gutted by years of continuous warfare since 1912.

The aluminium bronze alloy was a deliberate departure from the debased Ottoman coinage that preceded it — a material statement about monetary stability that the young republic could not yet fully back in practice.
