Opmerkingen

Danmarks Nationalbank's postwar small-denomination redesign brought in the Faroese sculptor and artist Janus Kamban — an unusual choice, given that his reputation rested almost entirely on monumental bronze work rather than graphic design. The 5 Krónur was part of a broader effort to modernize Danish currency aesthetics after the occupation years, when the Reichskreditkassen notes had circulated alongside official Danish issues and left an uncomfortable visual residue on public memory.

Pick 13 is the first distinct issue of this Kamban-designed type. The series ran across nearly a decade, meaning paper quality and ink strike vary considerably across the run.
