At upper left, an ornate intaglio medallion encloses a large numeral '5' over intricate guilloche work. To the right, a vignette in fine line engraving portrays the allegorical figure of Mother Svea, seated and robed, resting against a shield with a lion at her side. A large multicolour guilloche rosette in red and blue dominates the centre, bearing the denomination 'FEM KRONOR' in bold letterpress, with the redemption legend in script around its circumference. The bank name 'SVERIGES RIKSBANK' appears in gothic lettering across the upper portion, with the date and serial number printed in black at upper right and lower left, and a red numeral '5' at lower right. |

The centre of the reverse is dominated by a large oval intaglio vignette enclosing a finely engraved bust portrait of King Gustav I (Gustav Vasa, c. 1496–1560), shown in three-quarter view wearing a fur-trimmed cap and elaborate Renaissance-era attire. The oval frame is surrounded by an ornamental border of floral and foliate devices, with the denomination numeral '5' appearing in guilloche cartouches to either side. The bank name 'SVERIGES RIKSBANK' is inscribed in two arcs encircling the central vignette. |
