(Translation: Sweden`s Riksbank will pay, on demand, for this note Five Kronor in gold coin according to the law on the national coinage of 30th May 1873)
Reverse description Central oval intaglio portrait of King Gustav Vasa, shown bust-facing with a feathered hat and beard, set within a finely engraved lace-pattern medallion. The circular frame carries the bank name in two arcs and is flanked on either side by the numeral 5 in large format. The plain paper background shows fine wavy line security underprint, and two watermark-style letter U devices appear at the lower margin.
