Printed in dark olive-brown on a pale ground, the obverse is structured around a central crowned coat-of-arms vignette set above the bold letterpress denomination inscription 'Kronor FEM Kronor', flanked at the base by two rampant lions. Octagonal numeral panels bearing the digit '5' occupy each corner, while the word 'SKÅNE' runs vertically within ornate guilloche frames along both lateral borders. The bank title 'SKÅNES ENSKILDA BANK' heads the note in two lines, with the series designation 'Litt. D' at upper left, the issue place and date 'Malmö 1876.' centred below the denomination, and two manuscript authorisation signatures at the foot. |

The reverse reproduces the complete obverse design in lateral mirror image, printed in the same dark olive-brown ink as an anti-counterfeiting measure intended for verification by transmitted light. The crowned arms vignette, corner '5' numeral panels, vertical 'SKÅNE' inscriptions within guilloche frames, and the full text layout are all laterally reversed. The printer's imprint 'Jacob Bagge, Stockholm' appears at the lower margin. |
