Beschrijving voorzijde Plain white note with a dotted decorative border framing the entire face, with numeral '5' in squared cartouches at each corner. The issuer's name 'Moster Kommune' is rendered in large cursive script at the top, below which the denomination 'Fem Kroner' appears in bold letterpress type alongside a serial number. Two manuscript signatures appear in the lower half, identified below as 'ordførar' (mayor) and 'heradskasserar' (municipal treasurer), with the issuing authority and year 'Moster formannskap 1940' printed between the denomination and the signatures.

Beschrijving keerzijde The entire reverse is occupied by a halftone photographic reproduction of Moster Church (Moster gamle kyrkje), one of Norway's oldest medieval stone churches, shown set against a broad hillside with a cross visible on the hilltop. A churchyard with grave markers is visible in the foreground, and the composition has the appearance of a halftone press reproduction rather than an engraved vignette.

Opmerkingen

Moster is a small island community in Hordaland, western Norway, and this 5 Kroner note is one of the emergency municipal issues produced during the German occupation after April 1940 disrupted normal banking and coin supply across the country. Dozens of Norwegian municipalities resorted to printing their own scrip that year — Moster among the smallest and most remote to do so.

The NP (Norwegian Paper Money) catalog documents these occupation-era municipal issues as a distinct collecting category. Moster's examples survive in very limited numbers, unsurprising given the tiny issuing community.
