| Obverse description | Letterpress-printed in red on a pale green guilloche underprint, the face is enclosed within a red ornamental border incorporating foliate corner devices and a continuous scroll-pattern frame. Large red numeral '5' appears at both left and right margins flanking the central text block, above which a small Imperial Austrian double-headed eagle vignette is set; the dated text is signed by Camp Commander Burghauser and dated Cilli, 26 October 1916. The printer's imprint 'VEREINSBUCHDRUCKEREI CELEJA IN CILLI' runs in small red type below the outer border. |
