Obverse description Typeset in dark brown on an orange-red guilloche underprint, the voucher bears the bold Fraktur heading 'GUTSCHEIN' with a serial number at top centre, above a two-line restrictive legend confining use to prisoner-of-war monetary transactions within the camp. The camp designation 'Marchtrenk' in ornate Fraktur occupies the centre, flanked by two circular denomination medallions each bearing the numeral '5', with 'Kronen' in a central oval cartouche and the date 'November 1917' below. Two manuscript signatures appear at the foot beneath the captions 'Lagerkommandant' and 'Depositen-Verwalter', and a purple cancellation overprint reading 'Ungültig' is struck across the upper portion of the face.

Reverse description The reverse carries an identical typeset layout in dark brown on the same orange-red guilloche underprint, with 'GUTSCHEIN' and a serial number at top, the two-line restrictive legend below, and 'Marchtrenk' in ornate Fraktur at centre. Two circular '5' medallions flank the central 'Kronen' oval cartouche, with 'November 1917' beneath, and the two manuscript signatures with their captions 'Lagerkommandant' and 'Depositen-Verwalter' at the foot. Unlike the obverse, the reverse carries no cancellation overprint, leaving the full printed design unobstructed.
