The "križara" denomination is a modern Croatian fantasy issue with no legal tender status and no authorization from any monetary authority — essentially a privately produced medal struck in collectible format and marketed under papal branding. Benedict XVI's 2011 visit to Croatia drew enormous crowds to Zagreb's Hipodrom, and the commemorative market responded predictably.
