Obverse description Central field displays the quartered arms of the Archbishopric of Salzburg within an oval escutcheon, surmounted by a princely crown topped with a cross. Behind the shield, a crosier and a sword are crossed in saltire, symbolising the prince-archbishop's dual ecclesiastical and secular authority. Flanking the shield are decorative foliate and floral ornaments. The composition is framed by a laurel wreath at the base, and the denomination numeral '5' appears in the exergue below. A beaded border encircles the entire design.
