Obverse description Central field features the Brandenburg eagle displayed within a circular orb or globe, surmounted by a royal crown with cross finial, the entire device resting upon an ornate baroque pedestal bearing the denomination numeral 5 at its base. Foliate scrollwork flanks the pedestal on either side. The date is divided and placed to either side of the orb. The circular legend reads BRAND. ONOLZB: CONVENT: MUNZ, separated by stops, running around the periphery.

Reverse description Three-line inscription in large raised lettering within an oval cartouche, indicating the coin's fineness standard: 240 / EINE FEINE / MARK, signifying that 240 such pieces were struck from one mark of fine silver. The cartouche is framed by elaborate scrollwork and foliate ornaments. The mint mark S appears below the cartouche within a small shield or tablet, denoting the Schwabach mint. No peripheral legend is present.
