| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing heraldic Bohemian lion rampant with the Slovak escutcheon on its breast, rendered in high relief at center of the field. The circular legend reads 'REPUBLIKA ČESKOSLOVENSKÁ' divided around the periphery, with the date '1952' positioned in the lower exergual area. The design is executed in a bold, socialist-realist heraldic style with fine detail in the lion's mane and shield. |

Czechoslovakia's early 1950s coinage redesigns were driven by the Communist Party's push to strip remaining bourgeois symbolism from the monetary system following the February 1948 coup. Trial strikes in brass from this period were produced at the Kremnica Mint to test planchet specifications and die performance before final composition decisions were made — the circulating 1952 five korun ultimately issued in aluminum, not brass, suggesting this trial was part of a rejected material evaluation rather than a proof of the adopted design.
