5 Korun Pattern

Czechoslovakia issued pattern coinage throughout the 1960s as the state mint experimented with alloy and size combinations ahead of planned currency reforms. This 1966 piece was never adopted for circulation — the 5 koruna denomination ultimately retained different specifications, and most pattern strikes from this period went directly into institutional collections or were distributed through Czechoslovak numismatic agencies as a hard-currency revenue source, a practice the government exploited with particular efficiency during this decade.
