Khengarji III ruled Kutch for over six decades — one of the longest reigns of any Indian prince under the British Raj — and maintained unusual minting autonomy throughout. The Kutch state mint continued producing silver kori coinage in its own name well into the twentieth century, a privilege most princely states had already surrendered or lost to British Indian standardization pressures by the 1880s.
