5 Kori - Edward VIII [Khengarji III]

Edward VIII's abdication in December 1936 created an administrative oddity across British India: coins struck in his name during that single calendar year became instant anachronisms before most had left the treasury. Kutch, like several princely states, had issued currency acknowledging the paramount power by naming the reigning British monarch alongside the local ruler — here Khengarji III, whose own reign stretched from 1875 to 1942.

The brevity of Edward's reign means this type saw no meaningful circulation window. Most survivors show it.
