Obverse description The Imperial Russian double-headed eagle occupies the central field, displayed with spread wings and bearing an orb and sceptre in its talons; a large imperial crown surmounts both heads. The breast of the eagle features a detailed shield with the mounted St. George slaying the dragon. The entire central device is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, flanked at the base by crossed laurel and oak branches. The circular legend МѢДНАЯ РОССІЙСКАЯ МОНЕТА runs along the upper periphery in Cyrillic characters.
