Obverse description Within a rope-bordered circular frame on a square klippe flan, the elaborate coat of arms of Archbishop Markus Sittikus von Hohenems is depicted centrally: a shield bearing a rampant lion, surmounted by a bishop's mitre and ecclesiastical hat with pendant tassels, flanked by ornate foliate mantling. The circular legend reads MARCVS SITTICVS D G AREPS SAL A S L, denoting the archbishop's name and titles by the grace of God, disposed around the armorial device.
