The dragon faces forward with an elaborate antlered head and outstretched claws, its body curving dynamically through stylised cloud motifs. A circular English-language legend surrounds the central design, reading 'TWENTY SECOND YEAR OF KWANG HSU PEI YANG ARSENAL', separated at the base by two five-pointed stars. The overall composition is typical of late Qing provincial coinage struck at the Pei Yang Arsenal. |
