Reverse description Facing bust of the Ukrainian writer Mykhailo Yalovy, known by his literary pseudonym Yulian Shpol, depicted wearing a wide-brimmed hat and a jacket with tie, rendered in high relief against a stylized background of shattered, fragmented geometric forms rendered in black coloring, evoking the violence of Stalinist repression. The pseudonym ЮЛІАН ШПОЛ appears in the lower center field, while the real name МИХАЙЛО ЯЛОВИЙ is inscribed vertically along the right border. Birth and death years 1895 and 1937 are prominently displayed to the left of the portrait within the fragmented decorative field.
