| Obverse description | At the centre of the obverse, a finely detailed relief of a historic refracting telescope on a mounted equatorial stand dominates the field, its barrel angled diagonally across the design. Behind the instrument, a stylised starburst radiates geometric rays suggesting celestial light, while scattered stars and celestial bodies animate the surrounding field. The small shield-shaped arms of Ukraine (trident) appears at the top centre above the legend. The country name УКРАЇНА arcs across the upper field, with the date 2021 immediately below, and the denomination П'ЯТЬ ГРИВЕНЬ is inscribed along the lower rim within a recessed arc. |
