| 裏面の説明 | The plain field depicts a group of brotherhood members in period dress, their figures arranged in a compositional grouping across the central field. Above them, the brotherhood's historic seal is prominently displayed, accompanied by a semicircular Cyrillic legend commemorating the 400th anniversary of the Lutsk Exaltation of the Cross Brotherhood. The overall design reflects a historical and documentary artistic style appropriate to the commemorative subject. |

The Lutsk Exaltation of the Cross Brotherhood was founded in 1617 and became one of the most politically active Orthodox brotherhoods in Volhynia during the prolonged confessional conflicts of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. At a moment when the Union of Brest had formally subordinated much of the Orthodox hierarchy to Rome, these lay brotherhoods operated as the principal institutional defense of Orthodox Church life — running schools, printing houses, and challenging bishops they deemed insufficiently Orthodox through direct appeal to the Patriarch of Constantinople.
The coin was issued as part of Ukraine's long-running commemorative series on Orthodox religious brotherhoods. The Lutsk brotherhood's archive, partially surviving, is held in Lviv.
