| Obverse description | The obverse features the small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine at the upper left, accompanied by the semicircular legend НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (National Bank of Ukraine) along the upper periphery and the denomination П`ЯТЬ ГРИВЕНЬ (Five Hryvnias) along the lower periphery. The mint mark of the National Bank of Ukraine Banknote Printing and Minting Works appears to the right. At centre, set against a stylised solar radiance, an industrial landscape is depicted in relief, while the foreground features a marmot, feather grass, grain ears, and a sunflower blossom. The quartered shield bears a rampant horse in the upper left quarter and a miner's lamp motif, supported by decorative wheat ears flanking both sides and a rising sun at the base, with a ribbon cartouche inscribed ЛУГАНСЬКА ОБЛАСТЬ at the foot of the arms.
