Below the building, within the centre, the numeral 100 appears in large raised digits above the word РОКІВ (years), commemorating the centenary of the institution. The copper-nickel outer ring carries the full institutional name КИЇВСЬКИЙ НАУКОВО-ДОСЛІДНИЙ ІНСТИТУТ СУДОВИХ ЕКСПЕРТИЗ (Kyiv Research Institute of Forensic Expertise) in a circular Cyrillic legend, with a small decorative dot at the base separating the beginning and end of the inscription.
