| 背面描述 | Central field presents a large, finely modelled bust-length portrait of Ivan Franko, the celebrated Ukrainian poet and writer, facing slightly left with a moustache and wearing an embroidered traditional Ukrainian vyshyvanka collar rendered in precise detail. Fragments of a stylized sculptural or architectural composition flank the portrait to the left and right, evoking broken stone forms. The Cyrillic inscription 'ІВАН ФРАНКО' runs vertically along the left side of the field. To the lower right, the birth and death years '1856' and '1916' are inscribed within a squared interlocking graphic device. |

Ivan Franko (1856–1916) was a Galician writer, poet, and political activist who spent much of his adult life under Austrian imperial rule and was imprisoned multiple times for socialist organizing — making him a complicated but potent national symbol for independent Ukraine. This 2006 issue commemorates the 150th anniversary of his birth. Franko wrote in Ukrainian at a time when the language itself was politically suppressed in Russian-controlled territories under the Ems Decree, an act that makes his adoption on Ukrainian coinage after 1991 carry considerable ideological weight.
