| Beschrijving keerzijde | Against a smooth, unadorned field, the interlocking abbreviations 'EU' and 'UA' form a bold central device, with the two letters 'U' merging into a single shared form that visually unites Europe and Ukraine. Within this monogram, a stylized sprout motif suggests new growth and emerging partnership. Surrounding the central design, a ring of twelve stars — evoking those of the European Union flag — encircles the composition as a symbol of unity, integrity, and harmony. The bilingual legends 'ДЕНЬ ЄВРОПИ' in Cyrillic and 'EUROPE DAY' in Latin are distributed around the inner border of the star ring. |

Europe Day, observed on May 9, commemorates the 1950 Schuman Declaration — Robert Schuman's proposal for pooling French and German coal and steel production under a common authority, the foundational act that eventually became the European Union. Ukraine formally adopted Europe Day as a national holiday in 2023, the same year the country received EU candidate status, making this 2024 issue the first struck under that designation.
