Obverse description The obverse features a central composition of seven pysanky (traditional Ukrainian Easter eggs) adorned with folk ornamental motifs characteristic of different regions of Ukraine. The small National Emblem of Ukraine (trident) is displayed at the centre of the arrangement. The issue year 2003 appears above the composition, flanked by the country name УКРАÏНА and the denomination 5 ГРИВЕНЬ arranged around the design within the coin's field.

Reverse description The reverse depicts a ceremonial Easter procession of Orthodox Christian worshippers led by a priest bearing the shroud of Christ, accompanied by participants carrying crosses, church gonfalons (banners), and lit candles in a solemn religious cortège. In the lower field, the ritual of blessing and consecration of Easter offerings is illustrated. The inscription ВЕЛИКДЕНЬ (Easter) is positioned in the upper portion of the field, serving as the principal legend of the design.
