| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse is laid out as a grid of numbered coal-ration coupons printed in brown letterpress on cream paper, each cell inscribed 'ganzer Zimmerbrand' with sequential week numbers (53 through 74) and corresponding date ranges spanning November through April. The abbreviation 'Z. B.' appears centrally within the grid alongside a partial date reference '1./4. 1920.' and the word 'Immerbrand', indicating the note's role as a fuel-rationing instrument issued under municipal authority. |

Hinterbrühl is a small village in Lower Austria, better known as the site of the Seegrotte — the largest underground lake in Europe, used during World War II as a Heinkel He 162 jet aircraft assembly plant. The 1920 notgeld issue from this municipality has nothing to do with that history, but it is a reminder that Austria's postwar currency collapse forced even the most obscure parishes to print their own emergency change. The federal supply of small-denomination coins had simply ceased to function.
Heller-denominated notgeld from villages this small typically ran in very short print runs, distributed locally and rarely travelling far.
