Beschrijving voorzijde Printed in red on cream paper, the obverse centres on a letterpress vignette of the Kasberg-Alm alpine farmstead set against a mountain landscape with forest and open pasture. The denomination numeral '5' appears in large Gothic script at upper centre flanked by the inscription 'Fünf Heller', with additional '5' numerals in the lower left and right corners. A decorative ruled border frames the entire design, and the issuer name 'Grünau' is printed in a cartouche at the lower centre, with the caption 'KASBERG-ALM' inscribed within the vignette.

Opmerkingen

Grünau im Almtal is a small Alpine village in the Salzkammergut, and its decision to issue emergency paper money in 1920 was driven by the same chronic small-coin shortage that plagued the entire former Habsburg territory after 1918. The Austrian National Assembly had authorized municipalities to produce Notgeld precisely because the new republic could not mint fractional coinage fast enough to meet demand — Franz Huemer's signature as Bürgermeister gave the issue its legal standing at the local level.

Jaksc catalogues this as JPR0300a-05, suggesting multiple denominations in the Grünau series. Village-level Austrian Notgeld of this period was typically printed in very small runs and rarely circulated far beyond the issuing community.
