Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King Willem II facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and a short curled beard, the truncation signed by the engraver P. SCH. The legend curves around the periphery, reading WILLEM II KONING DER NED. G.H.V.L., identifying the king as King of the Netherlands and Grand Duke of Luxembourg. The field is smooth and unadorned, and the coin is bordered by a fine dentillated rim.
