The Centrale Bank van Curaçao en Sint Maarten issues commemorative coinage jointly on behalf of two autonomous countries within the Kingdom of the Netherlands — an arrangement that has existed since the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles in 2010. That dissolution split the six-island territory into separate constitutional entities, leaving Curaçao and Sint Maarten sharing a central bank and a common currency, the Netherlands Antillean guilder's successor, while Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba became special municipalities of the Netherlands proper.
