Reverse description The reverse presents a sculptural composition depicting three figures commemorating the 150th anniversary of the abolition of slavery, inspired by the Tula monument on Curaçao. A central male figure raises a broken chain triumphantly above his head, flanked to the left by a second male figure and to the right by a female figure, all emerging from bondage. The date range '1863-2013' is inscribed vertically in the right field. The upper legend reads '150 JAAR VRIJHEID' and the lower legend reads 'DE KETENEN VERBROKEN', together translating as '150 Years of Freedom — The Chains Broken'.
