Obverse description Dark green and green tones on multicolour underprint. A vignette of Dutch writer and poet Joost van den Vondel (1587–1679) occupies the right portion of the note, rendered in a modernist graphic style characteristic of Oxenaar's work. The denomination numeral "5" appears in large format to the left, with the issuing bank's name and date of issue inscribed across the face.

Reverse description Dark green and green on multicolour underprint, composed entirely of abstract geometric panels arranged in a grid-like mosaic. The central field presents a stylised architectural interior — suggestive of a classical facade with triangular pediment and columned portico — rendered through interlocking triangles, concentric arcs, and hatched guilloche elements in varying shades of green, teal, and gold. Denomination numerals "5" appear in bold at lower left and upper right, with the serial number block and a circular vignette of inkwell and quill positioned at upper left.
