Obverse description Dark green and green tones on multicolour underprint. A vignette of Dutch writer and poet Joost van den Vondel (1587–1679) occupies the right portion of the note, rendered in a modernist graphic style characteristic of Oxenaar's work. The denomination numeral "5" appears in large format to the left, with the issuing bank's name and date of issue inscribed across the face.
