Opmerkingen

Suriname redenominated its currency on 1 January 2004, replacing the Surinamese guilder at 1,000:1 with the Surinamese dollar — meaning this 2000-dated note had a circulation window of just four years before becoming obsolete. The Centrale Bank van Suriname had itself only been established in 1957, taking over from the Surinaamsche Bank after the country gained greater autonomy from the Netherlands.

Thomas De La Rue's involvement here is unsurprising; they handled much of Suriname's paper currency production across this period. The watermark is the sole listed security feature — modest even by late-1990s regional standards.
